• A vacation to Kafal house was one of my best trips. Set in the Himalayan foothills the lodge gives you a serene and picturesque view. A wonderful place in a fantastic setting. The best part is its location, 15 kms from Nanital , the drive to Pangot is worth cherishing. It gives you a calm environment. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was great and all facilities are excellent. The rooms are cosy and well ventilated. you must not miss a walk to the nearby forest areas. Which are worth exploring and bird watching is fun. Pangot is a must visit for all those nature lovers!! A must on a vacation if you are looking for a peaceful and tranquil holiday.

  • Kafal House is beautifully located with a amazing view of the valley all the way to Corbett. The rooms with the valley are amazing, in the evenings, you can sit out and watch an amazing sunset. The other advantage of the property is that it faces their garden. This place was alive with birds. On our first night there, we forgot to switch off the corridor light and because of the all the insects that came, we literally had birds at our doorstep. The beautiful red-billed blue magpie, dark-headed jay, the Sibia and many more not even a metre away from us. Wonderful! The hotel itself is staffed by very helpful and friendly people. We were eating at the Jungle Lore lodge restaurant and for those you don’t like or have difficulty walking, be warned that that is quite a few (big) steps down from Kafal house. We were quite happy to do this walk and work up an appetite as the food was excellent. The dining hall is decorated with much love. We ended up going early for all meals simply to enjoy the room and the books in it! All in all, a wonderful stay. I am sure that we will go back.

  • Pangot is a birder’s paradise. Every season is unique in the sense that different species of birds can be spotted here in different season. Since the place has become very famous, there are a number of options available for stay. However, in my view, Kafal House is value for money in every sense. We returned from Kafal house after a stay of three days in April, 2014. The owner Shri Raju is a young man full of enthusiasm. The rooms are cosy but fitted with all amenities. Clean bed linens and attached toiled with Geysers are all that a birder want. The food is outstanding, both in terms of quality and quantity. They serve food hot and are not miser in terms of the quantity be it vegetarian or non-veg. The chef. Shri Hemu is a talent to be seen and believed.
Kafal House is surrounded by fruiting trees of all kind and birds come rushing in the morning. While sitting at the balcony this time, we shot Spot-winged Grossbeak and Black francolin. We were also very lucky to get ‘Cheer’after 12 attempts during last two years.
